This natural park is located in the border of Spain and Portugal, and it was created by the cooperation of both Spanish and Portuguese partners.
The project aims at the creation of an International tourist destination “Tagus”, developing regional cooperation strategies that value the natural, cultural and historical sites linked to the Tagus International Natural Park. This will contribute to social and economic development of this frontier territory.
Framed in this project are being made improvements to infrastructure and tourist services in the area. In particular, the road that links the village of Herrera de Alcantara with the river, where it is possible to take a tour boat that crosses the coastal municipalities.
In the protection of the road has been used a containment system that is integrated into the natural landscape, EURO GS with wooden decor. Along the 2.7 kilometers road integrates into an idyllic landscape, a metallic element that does not interfere with the natural harmony.
EURO GS is a metal system with N2 containment level and CE marked. Through a novel technique of metal sublimation is achieved providing the galvanized steel wooden decor, with a huge variety of finishes and wood types. Using a duplex treatment, galvanization plus powder coating , means that the infrastructure will have a very high durability.
The project is supported by European funding and cooperation of local authorities.
